What this covers

The CarsPool.pk mobile app and this website. CarsPool.pk connects people already driving the same route so they can share the cost of the fuel.

What we collect

To create your account:

• Your mobile number, which is how you sign in.
• Your name, gender, city and date of birth.
• Your email address, if you choose to add one. It is optional.
• A profile photograph.

If you want to drive:

• Your CNIC number and a photograph of the card.
• Your driving licence number and a photograph of it.
• Your vehicle's registration documents.
• A selfie, if you complete identity verification. It is looked at by a person — there is no face matching, liveness detection or NADRA check in the app.
• Your vehicle's make, model, colour, number plate, seat count and photographs of the car.

When you use the app:

• Pickup and drop-off locations, the routes you save, and your device's location while the trip screen is open, so riders can see the car approach. The app does not collect location in the background.
• Your trips, seat requests, cancellations and ratings.
• The emergency contacts you choose to save.
• Device notification tokens, so we can tell you about seat requests.

Why we collect it

• Verification. Your CNIC, licence and vehicle documents are read by a person on our team.
• Matching. Locations and routes are what let the app find people going the same way at the same time.
• Records. Trips, seat requests, cancellations and ratings are stored so there is a record of what was agreed and what happened. We keep them because a dispute over a drop-off is settled by a person reading them.
• Contacting you. Your number and notification tokens are used to tell you about seat requests and approvals, and nothing else. We do not sell them and we do not send marketing to them.

What other people see

Riders and drivers see each other's name and profile photograph, and a rider sees how many seats a driver has free. Ratings are recorded but are not currently displayed to anyone.

Your CNIC number, licence number, date of birth and document photographs are never shown to other users. They are used for verification and are visible only to the team that reviews them.

Live location is shared only while a trip is running, with the people on that trip and with anyone you send a trip link to. It stops when the trip ends.

Who else we share it with

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use service providers to run the app: hosting and database, push notifications, SMS for one-time codes, and mapping and directions. They process data only to provide those services.

We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to respond to a safety incident.

Payments

Fuel is split in cash, in the car. CarsPool.pk does not process payments and does not hold your card or bank details.

How long we keep it

Account and trip records are kept while your account is open. Verification documents are kept while you are an approved driver, so we can show that the check was done. When you delete your account we remove your personal data as described below.

Your choices

• Location permission can be withdrawn in your phone's settings, though the app cannot match rides without it.
• Notifications can be turned off in your phone's settings.
• Your email address is optional and can be removed.
• You can delete your account and everything attached to it. See deleting your account.

Children

CarsPool.pk is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects you, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
